What will you remember the most from your Erasmus when you go back home? The first days on your own in an unknown city? The amazing friends you made during Welcome Days? The last-minute trips and unplanned crazy nights with all of them? These will definitely be your main memories, yet we would love to offer you the opportunity to remember and be part of a less common experience: the positive impact you can bring as an international student to your local community.

ESN cares about mobility and, even more, about how it is possible to promote social and civic change throughout it. For this reason, during Social Inclusion Days, from November 27th to December 10th this year, ESN sections all around 40 countries will organize activities to raise awareness about the different causes our projects focus on.

What has ESN BCN prepared for you?

You’ll have the chance to visit a primary school as part of our Erasmus in Schools project, in order to give very young kids the first insights about the experience of studying abroad. Tell them curiosities about your country and culture while you have the opportunity the education system in Catalunya from the inside. Encourage them to become part of the Erasmus generation in the future!

We will also introduce you to our ExchangeAbility project, by which we give visibility to inclusive mobility and promote equal opportunities for everyone. Did you know only 0.4% of students with special needs get to live a study abroad experience? With the 5-Senses bingo game at our weekly Tandem on Tuesday and a gymkhana with lots of different inclusive games we will raise awareness about the barriers students with special needs often encounter.

Following the International Day of Violence Against Women (November 25th), you’ll have the chance to attend a Self-Defense Workshop in which to become aware of space and body movement when in a tricky situation.

Last but not least, we will be part of Barça’s annual Solidary Member’s Day. What’s better than enjoying a match in Camp Nou? Easy! Join Barça Foundation in the participation of the “El Gran Recapte”, a huge Catalan donation happening every year, and provide non-perishable goods for entities aiming to help those in need.

You’ll find more information about our Social Inclusion Days on our Facebook Page. And remember, Erasmus is much more than you could have thought. Be social and leave your mark!
